Candle Care

Extended first burn

The first time a soy wax candle is lit and snuffed out, the edge of the wax pool creates a boundary for all future burns. During your first candle burn, please make sure that you allow for the wax to melt to reach all sides of the vessel. This will prevent tunneling in your candle, to make sure that wax is not left along the side of your vessel.

Trim the wick

Candles burn best if the wick is trimmed a quarter inch before every use. Our candles have wood wicks and will usually burn without a trim. However, if wicks are not trimmed, it can be harder to light and will create black smoke and a potential uneven wax pool.

Keep away from drafts

When burning candles, keep away from areas that have a draft. This will help with extending candle life and wax pool.
